104th Infantry, First State Color. Composed primarily of men from Bucks County, the regiment was nicknamed the "Ringgold Regiment." The regiment was organized in September-October 1861, and received the first state color on October 31. Colonel William W.H. Davis accepted the banner and gave it to Color-Sergeant James L. Slack. Sergeant Hiram W. Purcell saved the first state color from capture at Fair Oaks as he ran the flag behind the lines while wounded. He received a Medal of Honor for his actions. T

104th Infantry, Second State Color. Composed primarily of men from Bucks County, the regiment was nicknamed the "Ringgold Regiment." The regiment was organized in September-October 1861, and received its second state color on February 17, 1865. It was used by the regiment for the remainder of its term of service. The 104th was mustered out of service on August 25, 1865.
